Two very popular games played in medieval society were chess and checkers.

Chess is a two player board game in which two opposing players objective is to checkmate the other player's king piece. Each person starts with a king, a queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops and eight pawns. This game was very popular in medieval Europe.




Checkers (Known as Draughts in medieval times) is a game were two opposing players must use their piece to "jump" over the opposing players piece going diagonal on a one color of the squares on the board.
